How to create a Shaker Drawer Bank

In order to create a 'banked' set of drawers in Shaker or any similar style we need to create the various sections to add to a standard drawer bank

a)  From the Splash Screen > Select the Door tab on the Ribbon bar

  • Select the door to be 'banked'

b)  Copy the Current Door Style

c)  Rename to reflect the part you are going to create - in this case - Top

d)  Select the Construction Tab > Select the Delete all stiles and rails and start over icon

d)  Add the Left stile  and alter the overall size of the stile

e)  Add the top rail and alter the width of the rail

f)  Continue the same procedure with the right hand stile - alter the width of the stile

  • Select the close button bottom right of the Door Catalog Editor to save this new door style

f)  Open the Door Manager > The last door created defaults to the screen > repeat the previous instructions

  • Copy the door style > Remove 'Top' in Name and replace with 'Middle'

g)  Construction tab > remove all parts icon > add the left stile and alter width of the stile

  • Repeat the above to create the right hand stile - alter the width of the stile > Close the Door Catalog Editor to save

h)  Repeat the above instructions again - Copy the default door when opening the Door Catalog Editor

  • This time to create the bottom section of the 'banked' drawer set > Close the Door Catalog Editor to save the new door section

i)  To check that these new panels have been saved in the correct location

  • Door Manager > Door Catalog Editor > Select a Door icon > Opens the Select a Door  > Painted MDF Tab > panels have been correctly filed

Now we can apply these parts to a drawer bank to create a 'banked' set of drawers
