This is a basic checklist of things to check before you attempt an installation

  • Ensure that all ‘running’ applications are exited (Yes that includes your email)
  • Ensure that your anti-virus is disabled during the installation process
  • Relax the User Account Control
  • If your license is linked to a USB Key, you'll need to have a free USB port
  • Ensure that you have administrative privileges on the computer on which you are attempting to install Cabinet Vision on

Running Aplications

  1. We don't want anything to impact on the perfect installation of Cabinet Vision right
  2. We strongly recommend closing all applications and restarting your PC

Anti-Virus

By design, your anti-virus is trained to stop things like a software installation

  • By far the most common problem we have in support when an installation doesn't complete successfully

User Account Control - Use one of the two more relaxed levels of your User Account Control (Click Start > Type User Account)

Administrative Rights - This one is not negotiable

  • If your IT guy insists that we don't need administrative rights before we administer on the computer..?
  • You should really save your money - You are actively giving this "guru" money to stop you from using your own computer
  • Wake up to yourself
