This is a basic checklist of things to check before you attempt an installation
- Ensure that all ‘running’ applications are exited (Yes that includes your email)
- Ensure that your anti-virus is disabled during the installation process
- Relax the User Account Control
- If your license is linked to a USB Key, you'll need to have a free USB port
- Ensure that you have administrative privileges on the computer on which you are attempting to install Cabinet Vision on
Running Aplications
- We don't want anything to impact on the perfect installation of Cabinet Vision right
- We strongly recommend closing all applications and restarting your PC
Anti-Virus
By design, your anti-virus is trained to stop things like a software installation
- By far the most common problem we have in support when an installation doesn't complete successfully
User Account Control - Use one of the two more relaxed levels of your User Account Control (Click Start > Type User Account)
Administrative Rights - This one is not negotiable
- If your IT guy insists that we don't need administrative rights before we administer on the computer..?
- You should really save your money - You are actively giving this "guru" money to stop you from using your own computer
