Placing assemblies needs to be done in a logical manner - preferably working clockwise in the room
a) Alter any window sizes to reflect the room you are creating for your client.
- In your company library - select the first 'assembly' part to start your kitchen, in this case a tall filler (T Filler) which allows for a toe kick to be beneath it
- Go to Tall > Panels > T Filler - Select the part using the left click on your mouse to drag and drop the item on your plan
- The assembly part will automatically 'bump' from the corner of a room to the depth that the assembly piece is, in this case 610mm.
- Select the 'From Left' in the left hand selection panel and '0' the 610mm to place the assembly in the correct position.
b) From the company library - Tall > Door Cabinets
- Select your next cabinet to be placed on the plan - in this case a narrow pantry with 1 door.
- Size to your recommendation from the default size
c) From the company library - select your next assembly part > Tall > Panels > T Panel Fl
- In this case - a tall end panel to the floor (T Panel Fl) - left click and drag and drop close as possible to the pantry.
- This should place next to the pantry with no gap
d) From the company library select Wall > Fridge Overhead > 2 door cabinet
- let click and drag and drop this onto the plan as close as possible to the tall end panel
e) Adjust the size of the wall cabinet to suit the fridge and its required air gaps either side
- To do this, treat the left panel as a giant calculator - left click the cabinet
- Add the size of the fridge in the Width section and add the total gaps as per the Manufacturers Specifications
- Select 'enter'
- 'Cabinet Width' box appears > select which direction the cabinet is to be adjusted on > in this case Right > select OK
f) Add another tall panel to the right hand side of the wall cabinet to enclose the fridge space
- In this plan an under bench oven is to be placed with a tray cupboard and pullout to either side of it
- From the company library > Base > Underbench Appliances > UB Oven 1Dr - left click and drag and drop
- Place the under bench oven unit next to the tall end panel
- To create the centre of the wall from the window to the tall end panel use the left panel as follows:
- In the Clearance > Left box place the distance between the underbench oven and the wall - in this case 1436mm less the window size 850m
g) By using the enter key - distance between the under bench oven and the tall end panel is now 636mm
- In order to create 2 equal cabinets - divide this distance by 2 as shown
- This will automatically place the under bench oven unit in the correct position with equal distance between it and the tall panel and the window
h) From your favourties bar at the lower section of your screen, select a 1 door base unit
- Left Click and drag to the position is to to be located > drop in the space > it will automatically re-size
i) Repeat this process to add a 1 door unit to the right of the under bench oven unit
- Right click on the cabinet > Select 'Rehinge' to change the hinging from left to right
j) Re-size the cabinet to the same size as the 1 door base unit to the left of the underbench oven unit
k) Left click another 1 door base unit from the Favourites Bar > drag and drop next to the previous 1 door unit
- Resize this to the gap left i.e. the overall distance less 600mm (base cabinet depth plus door)
l) Left click and drag and drop another 1 door unit on the adjoining wall (TIP: slightly place in the negative i.e. further to the left than it should > the cabinet will automatically place in the correct position)
m) Right click the first cabinet (as shown) and select 'Combine' > 'Assemblies'
- The select the 1 door cabinet on the adjoining wall and left click
And Voila!!! We have a custom corner unit
- This construction method removes both the shelf and the doors
- Double left click the new corner cabinet to open in the Section Editor
n) On the cabinet left click the opening facing forward as shown below
- Change the Type in the left hand selection panel from 'Open' to 'Door'
o) Left click out in the plan page away from the cabinet
- A plan view of the cabinet appears in the left hand panel - in this case the red line denotes the door facing forward to the right
Left click on the section marked '2'
- In the section view to the right, the cabinet now has an Open space showing > left click this space > select door from the left hand panel
Now change to the Section Interior > Highlight the door section > Left Click the Horizontal Split to add a shelf to the cabinet.
You will see that the door not only has corner hinges attached (view in the 3D to the right) but has a handle on the left hand door which needs to be removed, and the new shelf is in the correct position.
Left click in the space to the left of the cabinet > in the plan view in the left hand panel - select '1' to return to the left hand door
- Left click the door
- Right click the door > Select Properties in the menu box
From the 'Door Properties' > select Pulls > Alter Quantity from 1 to 0 > OK
3D clearly shows the removal of the handle and the corner hinges
p) From the Favourites Tool Bar left click > drag and drop a 2 door unit as a sink unit next to your corner unit
q) Add a wall to your plan for your buffet unit - left click on the wall after it has been created and change the wall from 'Standard' to 'Peninsula' in the drop down box
q) Return to the Catalogues > Your Company Library > Appliances > left click dishwasher and drag and drop next to the sink unit you have just created.
s) Add a packer to the corner - Select your company library > Base > Panels > B Filler Face LH to give you a face fitting filler at a default size of 50mm > left click then drag and drop next to the dishwasher
r) Repeat this process to add one off the peninsula wall (gap from the wall to the left hand side will be the overall cabinet depth plus the thickness of the door in this case 580+18+2mm gap = 600mm)
s) From the company library select Base > Drawers > Base 3 Dwr - left click drag and drop onto the peninsula wall
t) Return to the company library > base > panels > Bar Panels > Waterfall End - left click and drag and drop to the right hand side of the 3 drawer unit
Increase the depth of the Waterfall End to allow for the bar overhang at the rear of the cabinet
Adjust the position by using the amount added to the waterfall end and using this figure in the negative in the Outset box in the left hand panel (in this case -300mm)
u) Return to the Bar Panels selection > Bar Panel Fl - left click drag and drop to the dining side of the buffet
Drop the panel, and this will automatically snap to the peninsula wall
v) Go to the Elevation view of the bar panel > if not in the correct position '0' to the wall end as shown below
- The total length of the wall is 1588 in this case. 38mm will be the Waterfall End therefore add 350mm to the default 1200mm length of the back panel
We have now successfully completed the Assemblies part of the kitchen project - next - let's add benchtops......
