Support package included - Joinery IT Catalog

  • This package uses library parts shaped around top and mid rails

UCS - Public Variables (Pictured below)

Cabinet Rails-1

  • Auto-add to Horizontal Reveals
  • Auto-add to Top Reveals
  • Corner Clear-out Method
    • Outline
    • Drill
    • None (Default)
  • Corner Check for Outline (DX)
  • Corner Check for Outline (DY)
  • Cut as One for 2 Piece (See following image of part label)
  • Cut as One (Kerf)

Cabinet Rails-2

  • Move Rail Down
    • Mid Rails center position will automatically be adjusted down from the reveal center by this amount

Cabinet Rails-5

  • Shape Ends for Rails (Default)
    • Shape Top and Mid
    • Shape Top and Rebate Mid
    • Use Shape Editor
  • Rebate Depth

Cabinet Rail (1 piece) - Cross Section Example

  • Combined here with Sage Mitre Handle Door

Cabinet Rail (2 piece) - Cross Section Example

The Cut as One feature shows as 2 rails in the drawing but machines as a single part on the nest. The factory guys can split it up after edge banding.

*Pictured above

Here's the label for the 'combined' 2 Piece Mid Rail - Part Comment contains information for the factory guys...

System Parameter - Design Mode (for profile rails) [Yes-No]

  • A job level note so you can switch between shaping ends for Mid Rails or using a rebate/dado operation for each Mid Rail
    • Set Design Mode to 'Yes' on your Design Systems and ends will be shaped in the design drawing
    • Toggle Design Mode to 'No' on your Detail System so the ends get a single band

See the following images...

  1. Design Mode (Yes), Mid Rail penetration all the way through the end. IE: Edge band is split between rails
  2. Design Mode (No), Mid Rail penetration through end is rebated. IE: 1mm is left on for edge band machine (Note: Shape End for Rails Default set to 'Shape Top and Rebate Mid')

Cabinet Level Attributes

  • Cabinet Rail - Mid (Custom Rail Sizes)
    • Allows any mid rail height
  • Cabinet Rail - Top (Activate)
    • Activate and deactivate the top rail and end cut outs
  • Cabinet Rail - Top (Adjust Left)
    • Adjusts the top rail left
  • Cabinet Rail - Top (Adjust Right)
    • Adjusts the top rail right
  • Cabinet Rail - Top (Hide)
    • Hide the top rail when a rail from another cabinet spans this rail space
    • Keep end cut outs for the top rail

Pull Schedules included (used to activate the Cabinet Rails)

  • Cabinet Rail (1 piece - 50 x 18mm default)
  • Cabinet Rail (2 piece - 68 x 40mm default)

Pull Materials

  • 50 x 18mm Cabinet Rail for Finger Pull
  • 68 x 40mm Cabinet Rail for Finger Pull
  • Copy and edit to suit your own needs

Material Parameters

  • We use the DX and DZ parameters to set up the correct cutout size on ends and partitions
  • The PARTS parameter determines whether cabinet rails are L shaped (Valid values - 1 and 2)
    • 1 Piece = I shape
    • 2 Piece = L shape

Alternate Rail Sizes - You can copy the Cabinet Rail material...

  • Save as many materials as alternate sizes you wish to use on different projects
  • Modify the Pull Schedule for the Room or Job
  • Door Pull = Top Rail size
  • Drawer Pull = Mid Rails size

Support is added for Horizontal grained ends and partitions

  • Edit your construction method to use horizontal grain for ends, partitions or dividers and the parts are ready for both design and manufacture

Corner Clear-out Options...

  1. Outline
  2. Drill
  3. None
